Cooperation between ISC and ClimaXmi Beijing on “Low Carbon Champions Alliance”
Institute for Sustainable Communities(ISC) has authorized ClimaXmi Beijing as its coordinator in North China region for the development of “Low-Carbon Champions Alliance” project since early 2013.
Recently ClimaXmi Beijing is launching the first in a series of Low-Carbon Champions Alliance, titled as “In-depth and Perspectives of China Carbon Markets”. This workshop has arranged at 2:00-4:00pm on 15th May 2013, to be held at the conference room of China Beijing Environment Exchange (CBEEX).
ClimaXmi Beijing is honored to have Prof. Duan Maosheng from Qinghua University and CEO Mei Dewen from CBEEX as two outstanding speakers. They will analyze the opportunity and challenges for China’s carbon market from policy, technical and market-readiness perspectives, which will to some extend provide useful information and smart ideas to participants.

Comments and translation on Shenzhen ETS Provision

The Provision of Carbon Emissions Management of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was enacted and released on 10 November 2012. ClimaXmi’s carbon expert and legal experts made a quick translation and some comments to share with national and international experts who are interested. ClimaXmi successfully offsets the Carbon Footprint for the Portuguese Embassy in China
On 12th November 2012, ClimaXmi sold 48 tons of VCS 2007 Standard VERs to the Portuguese Embassy in China through China Beijing Environment Exchange, with a Carbon Credit Transaction Certificate issued the same day. All purchased VERs were used by the Portuguese Embassy in China to offset its Carbon Footprint produced in year 2011. The VERs were developed by ClimaXmi this year from the Fujian Zhangpu Liuao 3rd Wind Power Project which is located near the seashore of Fujian Zhangpu county, the same location as the Gold Standard qualified Fujian Zhangpu Liuao 1st Wind Power Project .
ClimaXmi welcomes more global companies and organizations to reduce their carbon footprint by themselves and by offsetting. We joined EnCO2 Trip Biking to Carbon Expo

Riders representing 16 different nationalities joined a three days ( 27th May-29th May, 2012), 360-kilometer (224-mile) cycling trip from Rotterdam to Cologne as a prologue of Carbon Expo.
ClimaXmi, as a leading consulting company in carbon market, actively participated in this trip along with other three dozens of cyclists, including carbon traders, carbon fund experts, policy experts and more. The trip in the end had fulfilled the purpose of carbon emission reduction as the bikers arrived in Cologne on their racing bike after three days of hard paddling.

Comments on China CC law

On 18th March 2012 a draft version of Climate Change Law of the People's Republic of China was publicly released by Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing.
Before that the draft Climate Change Law of China was submitted to China's National Development and Reform Committee.
This initiative provides first-ever completed Climate Change law texts of China for open discussion and public comments. Leading by Prof. Chang Jiwen, first post PhD of Environmental Resources Law in China, the draft law was co-operated by Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Science together with Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.ClimaXmi’s legal and climate policy experts located in China, USA and the Netherlands together finalized their opinions then sent the Legal Comments in Chinese to Prof. Chang Jiwen on 30th April 2012, the deadline set by the China Climate Change lawdrafting team.

Main responsibilities include:
- Assisting research of CDM related policies, regulations, technical specifications and the development of information industry;
- Supporting with collection and analysis of domestic energy and investment policies, regulations and trends;
- Assistance to complete CDM validation, monitoring, verification and certification work;

Requirement:

Title: Portfolio Manager - Emission Reduction Projects
Directly Report to: Technical Director
Location: Beijing
Main responsibilities include:
CDM and VER Projects Development & Portfolio Management
- Collecting legal, technical, financial documents for the project Management;
- Managing the CDM/VER projects portfolio, including but not limited to managing and coordinating the projects developed by external technical experts, so as to achieve on-time delivery of projects results.
- Coordinating the relationship with Project Owner, Project Developer, DOE and DNA, and UNFCCC EB for the project development.
- Keeping track of the development of CDM/Emission Reduction Projects Regulations and Methodologies, both domestic and international, for the support of Development, Validation, Registration, Monitoring and Verification of the Emission Reduction Projects (including CDM projects and VER projects) in China.
- Keeping close scrutiny of on-going national and provincial Climate change/ Low Carbon /Emission Reduction Policies in China;
- Managing project/technical contract filings, in both soft and hard copies.
- Translation (English to Chinese or vice versa ) of projects related and technical documents
Requirement:
- Bachelor degree or above, Science and engineering or related major.
- More than one year CDM independent project development experience, or at least two years working experience in related field.
- Have good ability of spoken and written English, , and be able to efficiently and accurately complete the translation and interpretation work.
- Solid research and analysis skills with ability to contact organizations and individuals to follow-up and validate information
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Desire to work in an international environment as a proactive team member and independently
- Excellent computer skills; at minimum, candidates must have excellent capability in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Internet research.
- Have good writing and communication skills, willing to travel.

Basic requirements
- University Diploma in related disciplines from recognized university, no limitation to majors but has to be closely related to climate change.
- IT proficiency and good communication skills.
- Sound skills on research and reporting on renewable energy, climate change and sustainability related topics.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written. Reading and writing in Chinese will be a big plus.
- Self motivated, good team player and can work under pressure in an international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direct supervision of Managing Director, the incumbent carries out responsibilities of reports-drafting and projects coordination in-between Europe and China.
- Propose brand-new projects related to sustainability, CSR, green events and so on; meantime initiate fund-raising opportunities.
- Some support on financial book-keeping and legal documents collection / and legal review tasks if capable
- Providing secretarial supports to the MD and ensuring effective and professional contacts management with key business partners in Europe and China
- Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the management team.

Accounts Management (30%)
- Preparing and manage the budgets for office expenditure
- Preparing monthly financial reports for the Beijing Office

Administration (70%)
