ClimaXmi successfully offsets the Carbon Footprint for the Portuguese Embassy in China
On 12th November 2012, ClimaXmi sold 48 tons of VCS 2007 Standard VERs to the Portuguese Embassy in China through China Beijing Environment Exchange, with a Carbon Credit Transaction Certificate issued the same day. All purchased VERs were used by the Portuguese Embassy in China to offset its Carbon Footprint produced in year 2011. The VERs were developed by ClimaXmi this year from the Fujian Zhangpu Liuao 3rd Wind Power Project which is located near the seashore of Fujian Zhangpu county, the same location as the Gold Standard qualified Fujian Zhangpu Liuao 1st Wind Power Project .
ClimaXmi welcomes more global companies and organizations to reduce their carbon footprint by themselves and by offsetting. If VERs from the same project or other qualified VERs / Gold Standard VERs are needed, please feel free to contact us by email info@climaxmi.orgOffset our carbon footprint, for a low carbon green world!

Economy”
17-21 October 2011
Nanjing, China
Application Deadline: 31 July 2011
Contact: Barbara Solich solich@ihdp.unu.edu
One of the major challenges of societies concerns how to improve well-being in an inclusive way, while respecting planetary boundaries. The upcoming Rio+20 Earth Summit 2012 (United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development—UNCSD) has as one of its major themes ‘Green Economy within the Context of Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction’. The so-called ‘Green Economy’ offers various insights and policy measures for transforming socio-economic systems toward a sustainable path. In this realm, it is important to have a comprehensive understanding of the concept of Green Economy, covering not only important aspects related to economic efficiency and economic policy reforms (taxes, economic incentives, investment in green technologies, etc), but also to take into consideration a more holistic view of such transformation by considering social components including equity, inclusiveness, and the compatibility of these changes with social, cultural and political values.
In this context, the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) and the International Human Dimension Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) is organizing a workshop on Green Economy with the purpose of supporting capacity building in developing countries from the Asian-Pacific regioni. The workshop is oriented toward early-career scientists and policy-makers, providing them with an integrated framework on Green Economy that considers social, political, economic and technological changes necessary for a transition toward socially and environmentally sustainable development. The workshop will also focus on the long run feasibility of present high economic growth rates in some Asian economies, identifying alternative development pathways for a transition toward a Green Economy.
